About this Course

Learn to teach swim lessons! Become certified as a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) through the American Red Cross. Carroll Recreation Center is an authorized provider of the American Red Cross and teaches classroom and "blended learning" options for the WSI class. Blended learning includes a large portion of the class learning to be done online at home via the internet class on your own time, and mostly skills on land and water to be completed during class time. The WSI course is a minimum of 30.25 hours, 25 minutes plus breaks for meals and changing clothing between pool and land sessions (23.5 in class/pool, and about 7 online at home). Students will need access to a computer and internet - if this is of concern please let us know in advance.
